Henna Tattoo

While in Mombassa I decided to get some Henna tattoo done on my hands and feet. My friend Shari took me to a market place where we walked around to find someone who would know where we could get it done. Mombassa has a huge Muslim popluation so we found a girl pretty quickly. She said she knew someone and took us down this little alley that had shops on both sides and hardly a path to walk on, not the tourist area. She took us way back the alley and then up three flights of stairs to someone's house! She spoke with the woman and they said they would do the Henna. It was interesting because they wouldn't let my friend Shari in the house because he is a man and the father of the house was not home. There were several woman and they were super nice and really friendly. They did both my hands on the top and bottom and both of my feet, the tops and the sides as well. I loved it! I was able to get it all done for like $5. Back home at the Saturday market would have costed like $30 - $40! Definately an interesting experience just showing up at someones house!
