The First Braii !!!
We had the first official braii (BBQ) at our house this past weekend. We had a bunch of the youth over. The girls were staying the night but the boys were staying for dinner and a movie. For a braii, you have to have meat. Namibians have this thing about meat. If you ask what the traditional Namibian food is they will say meat. And it has to be real meat; beef, pork, sheep and kudu. Chicken and fish are called vegtables!
(first picture) - Ileni is teaching me to prepare meat Namibian style! I bought five big T-bone steaks at the butcher for $7 American dollars! This was a bit challenging with a cast on my arm!
(second picture) - Here is most of us proudly displaying our tasty dinner.
(third picture) - Marinating time. I learned how to make homeade marinade.
(fourth picture) - Me and "my boys" Josh and Peter. Along with the seaks, we also had Kudu sausage that you see here and chicken that Linda cooked. We ate well! By the way, Kudu is like a deer sort of. It tastes better though...
