Party!!
To celebrate the great job at their program and the end of the year, the Children's Church had a party which included a full on Braii (bbq) and a slip and slide of Namibia sorts. It was a blast!

End of the Year Program
The Children's Church, which is currently run by some of the our youth kids, put on a play to end the year. The play was basically showing how you have to be willing to give your life to Christ and he always gives you an opportunity. The children also sang some songs and did some dances with them. They were so excited and it was great to see the church embrace the children's program as well as the youth who are running it.

(second picture) - Josh, another leader, pretending to be Satan in the drama. He really scared all the small children.

(fourth picture) - About half of the children in Children's Church. Suama, the third leader, telling a little bit about the past six months.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
On October 28th, I turned 26! Oh my gosh I am getting old! Linda was super rad and threw me a surprise birthday party. All the youth kids and some friends from my church came. It was awesome. I was really blessed because it would have been hard to be so far away from my friends and family on my birthday but this one was really special.

Anytime there is a party...
Every time we have a party or any get together really the kids love to take photos together. So, of course I had to add some photos to the blog. We had fun and it was a great excuse to wear my new dress!

Even little Leticia joined in the birthday fun!

The Party Moves Out Back!
After awhile, so many people were in the house and it was getting full. So, we moved into the back and hung out and goofed around. I love hanging out with my "kids."

My birthday party ended on a great note. We had a pillow fight in the backyard and ended the evening watching "The Wizard of Oz." It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had! So check me out, do I look 26?

Harvest Festival

Obviously we don't celebrate Halloween in Namibia but Linda and I wanted to do something any way so we celebrated the holiday by having a "Harvest Festival" in our back yard for the neighbor kids. We played a lot of games as shown in the picture below and even gave out little prizes. At the end of the party we did face painting with a friend of ours, Walton. It was such a blast. We had about 25 kids over and they just had a fantastic time and I really enjoyed playing with them and getting to celebrate the "American" holiday.

Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin
This was a hilarious game! We had the kids put the nose on the pumpkin. We put the cover over their eyes and spun them around and sent them over. Most of them have never done this and they tried so hard. Even the smallest 3 years old children and the big 12 and 13 year old children enjoyed it.

Bobbing for Apples
After we showed the kids how to do this, they absolutely went to town and had such a blast. The big kids were able to do it well. The smaller kids tried but ended up using there hands more than their mouths. It was pretty funny.

More Games
We set up some simple games of tossing balls into buckets of water and rolling balls to knock down some blocks. The kids really enjoyed the games and really got into them. They had a lot of fun trying to compete against one another.
